Eighth-grade science teacher Kim Picard talks about accomplishing the same goals with her students while in a distance learning model.
In 8th-grade science, the Rube Goldberg Project is a final unit project in Ms. Picard’s class that synthesizes and teaches each student how to use different types of physics. The core skills each student learns are critical thinking and problem solving, as much of their time is brainstorming ideas and then doing trial and error tests for each step in order to complete the simple “task” of their choice. This video was the simple task of “playing a video” created by Tucker D. ’24.
