What does good learning look like?

A Joyous Morning with Renbrook School

Just prior to Thanksgiving, Watkinson had some important visitors from our sister private independent school, Renbrook School. Our four guests included:

  • Kira Miskimmin, Director of Alumni & Donor Engagement
  • Jed Stuart, Director of Secondary School Placement
  • Cara Woods, Director of Alumni and Development
  • Allie Young (Watkinson class of 2001), Director of Development Operations & Individual Giving

Their day included attending our All-School Meeting, the centerpiece of Watkinson’s community and culture. Then, as good visits often include a reunion, our guests reconnected with the children they used to teach. Amidst choruses of, “Look how much you’ve grown,” we even managed to get everyone to sit, smile, and have a group photo taken!

It was a joyous morning of our students’ former teachers getting to reflect on their students’ participation in this or that: “Do you still love math?”, “Are you still a gymnast?”,  “You are studying ASL now! How cool!”

More than 30 Renbrook students have attended Watkinson in the last 10 years. See powerful data about how Renbrook students thrive at Watkinson.

The day was a celebration of teachers working across institutional lines to shepherd students from childhood to adulthood.
